At the beginning of November, partners of WHAM project have met for the second consortium meeting of 2019. ArcelorMittal Innovación, Investigación e Inversión has hosted the meeting in the beautiful city of Avilés (Spain) where the steel industry has been an important economic driver of the region.

The main focus of the meeting was the presentation and discussion about the tasks related to WP2, WP3, and WP4. The first part of the meeting was focused on the scope of the industrial simulations of the use cases and the integration of the different models which will be provided by Idener, SSSA, and CSM. In the second part of the meeting, the topic discussed was the lab tests of the separation processes part of task 3.1. Finally, Idener has presented different aspects of the WHAM solution and its integration with existing systems of the industrial partners of WHAM project.

During the meeting, progress of the modelling activities and innovative water treatments of WHAM project has been shared and the bases of the integrated WHAM software platform have been presented. Our excellent host, AMIII, has also organized a visit to its research facilities close to Aviles.
