IDENER attends to Amsterdam International Water Week 2019
The AIWW was held in Amsterdam from the 4th to the 8th of November. This event serves as a platform that unites industry, academy, and governance to discuss the challenges for water that our society is facing. On the official opening, done by former General-Secretary of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, discussions between parties were encouraged, as well as networking. The United Nations’ message regarding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for water was reinforced, as well as the need of society as a whole to make efforts and changes in water management to achieve it.
Participants were engaged by a host of leading speakers, including Rich Sorkin, CEO of Jupiter Intelligence; Mark Gough, CEO of the Capitals Coalition; Mbulelo Tshangana, Director General of the Department of Human Settlements.
Other pressing water issues and opportunities in the areas of integrated water resources management, finance, blue-green solutions, and energy transition and resource recovery, were covered in research and innovation sessions, workshops, and sessions presenting cases and solutions sessions.
