REVOLUTION launched last 13th January
The REVOLUTION Project has started in January 2021 with its corresponding Virtual Kick-off Meeting. The project aims to support the Electric Vehicle REVOLUTION by maximising EV Range and End-of-Life Vehicle Recovery by optimising recycled plastics and advanced light materials. For this aim, 14 partners from 10 different countries have participated and presented their activities in the launch event for the next 3 years within the project.
REVOLUTION focuses on the challenges of hindering using recycled materials in manufacturing car components, but more broadly, restricting the adoption of circular economy principles in the automotive industry. During the project, the input of recycled materials and the injection moulding process will be used to optimise and deliver high-quality parts. One AI-Platform (created with machine learning and artificial intelligence approaches) will use data from three production processes to predict part quality when using recycled materials. In this platform are addressed the main activities of IDENER.
The automotive industry is represented within the project by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles through Tofaş, CRF and Tier 1s Farplas and MAIER. LyondellBasell, Clariant and Altuglas provide a strong representation of the European excellence in plastics and chemicals. These are joined by leading research organisations and SMEs to bring a solution to the market that addresses the entire value chain.
