REWET project’s 12-month milestone meeting successfully hosted in Estonia
The 3rd physical consortium meeting of the REWET project was successfully held from October 17-20, 2023, in Tartu, Estonia. Representatives from 18 partner organizations convened to review the project’s progress and discuss future strategies.
The consortium’s dedication to ecological research and collaborative efforts was evident as they meticulously reviewed the project’s advancements, confirming that all objectives are being met and that strategic planning for future endeavors is on track. The website now hosts a comprehensive update on the consortium’s achievements, showcasing the collaborative success and the forward-thinking strategies at the heart of the REWET project.
In a bid to connect with the local environment and its cultural backdrop, the consortium members explored the Estonian National Museum. This visit offered an enriching experience, grounding the participants in the cultural heritage that underscores their commitment to environmental stewardship.
Furthering their hands-on engagement with the project’s focus, the group embarked on a field trip to the Ess-soo peatland in Tartu. This direct encounter with the peatland’s environmental attributes served as an invaluable learning experience, reinforcing the relevance of the REWET project’s conservation goals.
Team building was also a focal point of the meeting, with consortium members participating in a traditional smoke sauna experience set in the tranquility of the Estonian forests. This was followed by a refreshing plunge into a cold lake, an activity that not only bonded the team but also deepened their appreciation for the natural environments they endeavor to protect.
