PENGUIN project launches with first meeting in Finland

The PENGUIN project’s face-to-face (F2F) consortium meeting was successfully conducted on September 25-26, 2024, in Jyväskylä, Finland. This important gathering brought together various experts to set the primary goals and address the challenges related to the development of bioinspired fibers and materials.

During the meeting, participants from different organizations, including IDENER.AI, engaged in an exchange of expertise, covering the creation of new fibers, exploring innovative textile production methods, and integrating natural qualities into high-performance outdoor apparel. IDENER.AI’s involvement is centered on contributing research aimed at advancing sustainability and functionality in outdoor textiles.

Sara Gil Guerrero, project manager, had the opportunity to visit the VTT and SPINNOVA facilities. These tours offered insights into the advanced technologies crucial for the production of textile fibers and materials. The innovative approaches presented are expected to be foundational in the development of outdoor textiles that feature biomimetic functionalities, leveraging nature’s design for sustainable and efficient material solutions.
