GREEN-LOOP project’s second review meeting conducted successfully
During the meeting of the GREEN-LOOP European consortium held in Katowice, Silesia, on October 9th and 10th, 2024, the members celebrated the project’s progress in developing bio-rubber, bioplastics, and wood composites. IDENER.AI, as a key participant, presented their strides in enhancing bio-based material manufacturing and energy efficiency through microwave technology. Their innovative approach has shown promising results, including up to 50% energy savings in wood composite extrusion processes.
Moreover, the event served as a platform for Luis Enrique Acevedo Galicia, the Project Coordinator, and Ignacio Fernández-Pacheco Ruiz, his support in coordination, to outline the advancements made in energy optimization for the bio-plastic and wood composite value chains. They focused on the recent achievements of Work Package 2, which aims to elevate the energy efficiency and environmental sustainability of the studied value chains. Their presentations highlighted the synergy of exergy analysis and life cycle assessment in guiding the project toward efficient and sustainable future applications.
Luis Enrique Acevedo Galicia: Luis is the Project Coordinator of GREEN-LOOP, and his main contributions towards the event beyond his coordination duties are the presentation of the results regarding the analysis, development and construction of the microwave prototypes developed for energy optimization of the bio-plastic and wood composite value chains of the project.
Ignacio Fernández-Pacheco Ruiz: Ignacio is supporting Luis in the coordination duties of the project and presenting the main results obtained during the last reporting period of the project in WP2, which includes the activities focused on improving the energy efficiency and the environmental sustainability of the value chains studied in the project.
