REDWINE Final Review Meeting held in Portugal

Portugal welcomed the REDWINE Consortium for the project´s long-awaited Final Review, held on 12 February at the facilities of Instituto Politécnico de Sétubal (IPS). The Meeting brought together all project partners, who were able to present the main achievements and final outcomes of the project, the European Commission´s Project Officer, and two external reviewers.

The REDWINE project aims to valorise by-products from the wine industry through innovative technologies, contributing to the circular economy and developing new ingredients for sectors such s cosmetics.

From our side, IDENER.AI was responsible for the digitalisation, optimisation and assessment of the process, together with other partners (LNEG and LEITAT). The team presented the results of a process model developed for the complete REWINE solution, including an evaluation of its economic, social, and environmental impact. Moreover, as a limitation acknowledged during the review, it was noted that the lack of pilot data to calibrate the model reduced the utility of the work. To close the Meeting, partners visited the pilot plant installed in Palmela, where the technologies implemented during the project were presented first-hand. The day concluded with a positive assessment from the Project Officer, who highlighted the consortium´s progress and results achieved throughout the project.
