REWET M24 Consortium Meeting held in Wageningen, the Netherlands

As project coordinator, IDENER.AI participated in the M42 REWET Consortium Meeting held in Wageningen, the Netherlands, from 10 to 12 March 2026.

Over three days, partners shared progress and key results from across the project. The consortium reviewed the advances achieved across the seven Open Labs located in different European wetland ecosystems and discussed the next steps required to maximise the project’s scientific, environmental and policy impacts. Different strategies were also proposed to improve the integration of biodiversity data across different wetland typologies, recognising the ecological diversity of the Open Labs.

Regarding IDENER.AI’s contributions, advances were presented across several work packages, including greenhouse gas modelling, sustainability assessment methodologies, and the development of the REWET Decision Support System. The team also presented progress on predictive models for CO₂ and CH₄ fluxes, biodiversity assessments and sustainability indicators.

The meeting reflected significant progress achieved across all Open Labs, generating valuable data on greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity, hydrology, and restoration outcomes. The consortium also reviewed the positive feedback received from the European Commission on the second reporting period and agreed on actions to address the remaining recommendations.

These three days provided an opportunity to strengthen collaboration among partners, address feedback from the European Commission, and coordinate activities ahead of the final project conference scheduled for September 2026 in Brussels, including several joint activities with sister projects.
