IDENER.AI recently participated in the General Assembly (GA) of the MYCOCIRCLE project, held at the facilities of consortium partner KORONA in Demjén, Hungary. The meeting brought together all consortium members to review progress made over the past six months and align on the next steps for the project.
MYCOCIRCLE is a Horizon Europe Research & Innovation Action funded by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU), running from September 2025 to August 2028. The project aims to upcycle mushroom biomass to develop sustainable biotechnological alternatives to animal-derived ingredients used in the cosmetics and agrochemical industries, producing high-value compounds.
As one of the project’s partners, IDENER.AI leads Safety and Sustainability by Design and the exploitation and innovation areas. During the General Assembly, it was agreed that IDENER.AI will also take responsibility for the project’s data repository, and all consortium partners were called upon to prioritise the submission of the specific datasets needed to advance IDENER.AI’s core tasks.
Hosting the event at KORONA’s facilities in Demjén, provided the team with a valuable firsthand look at the biomass procurement process and the diversity and variability of the raw materials involved. Beyond the formal sessions, meeting the consortium in person fostered a more collaborative atmosphere, enabling more efficient discussions around task methodologies than remote exchanges allow. Listening to other partners’ progress and concerns also offered a broader view of the project as a whole, helping IDENER.AI connect its data management responsibilities with the evolving needs of the wider consortium and establish clearer dependencies and workflows across work packages.
